Rehabilitation

Hey!! Sarah again. I'm sitting in the waiting room.. waiting. Crazy I know. We were actually kicked out for awhile because "there were too many people in the room", but it was just me and my brothers, so it wasn't a lot to us.:)
The boys are doing so good. Later today they will be moved to a rehab room! So they both will be working and rehabilating together. Knowing my brothers they will prbably make it a competion, and see who can recover the fastest!! I can just see them.. racing around with canes! It's going to be fun watching them recover and become stronger.
Schuyler was a bit freaked out when acouple days ago he sat in a wheelchair for the first time, and he looked down at his legs. He told me later that night that it made him really depressed to see them. He said it hit him for the first time that he really couldn't walk. His legs have already lost muscle mass, and his broken leg still is bruised and swollen. He said he knew for a fact that if he was to try to stand up, he would fall right on his butt. That is really humbling for him. It is as though his spirit is slowly being massaged, it often can be painful, but God is using His hands and using His love to heal. And maybe for the first time we are seeing the true Schuyler! I don't know if most people know him as I do, but Schuyler has always been head strong and stubborn. God is doing a work on him, and day by day you start seeing a sweet and caring young man. It's pretty amazing.
Sam day by day is getting stronger and more alert. He has a speech therapist come in and work with him, and I had the pleasure of getting to sit in with them while he talked to the therapist. It was really funny! She asked him once what the definition of saliva was?.. and he answered exactly like this, "the definition of saliva is.. (couple second pause, followed with some staring) ..is spit!" He is slowly starting to turn into the old Sam, and often you find him just grinning ear to ear. It is so nice to see that again. Sam also got to sit up in wheelchair for the first time yesterday! But he quickly got tired and when they put him back in his bed he was out of it for a couple hours. :) We have also got some laughs out of him lately by teasing him about a girl that keeps texting Schuyler, but asks questions about Sam. My little Sam is growing up so fast! Actually Sam has been bigger then me for awhile, but he is still my little buddy! He has also been eating more, and has gained back a couple pounds from the ten or so he already lost. :) I don't if Sam would be the same Sam to me if he were skinny!
My love for my brothers grows everyday!! It is a tender time for them and I am impressed at how they are growing in the Lord. Keep praying for their sanity.. it is hard for them to always be cooped up in bed and in their room 24/7.
God bless.. ~Sarah

Hey Sarah,
Its great news to hear that the boys are doing so much better. It has to be so hard for them to be there and not be able to do hardly anything. The accident really has made me open my eyes. I see things so differently now. Its great to see how close you are with your brothers. They need you and you are so awesome. Thank you for being such a great influence. You are helping more than just your brothers. Thank You. God Bless
